The Flamingos

The FLAMINGOS, like a hundred other black groups were musically birthed as a church choir. Maybe that’s why their creamy harmony has acquired cult status for its angelic sound. First known as The Swallows, they originally consisted of 2 Chicago sets of jewish cousins and Sollie McElroy. Their most memorable hit, I Only Have Eyes For You was introduced years earlier in 1934 flick called “Dames”.
