Little Richard

LITTLE RICHARD, born 1932 in Macon to a religious bootlegger, said he was inspired to music by Lloyd Price’s black and gold cadillac when he was a dishwasher.  First hit in ’55 was Tutti Frutti. Had to change his line from “Good booty” to “Aw rutti”. Saw angels holding up his plane in ’57 and quit to become ordained, wail gospel and preach.  By 1962 he was back into his makeup and sequined capes. Introduced Jimi Hendrix into his band in ’64. In ’77 was born again and talkin in tongues after Larry (Boney Moroni) Williams put a gun to his head.
