Lloyd Price

LLOYD PRICE’S Lawdy Lawdy Miss Clawdy in 1952 featured drummer Earl Palmer and Fats Domino on piano. Price flubbed the 3rd line but it didn’t matter, it hit #1 R&B  anyway. Later, In 1959 Price took an old folk song called Stak-o-Lee bout two gamblers and rewrote it into another #1 hit...Staggerlee. For a while during his heyday, Price’s valet and chauffeur was Larry (Short Fat Fannie) Williams.
