DOO-WOP a term for vocal group harmony, was said to have been first seen in print in 1961. Some say the phrase was first used by The Clovers in 1953, Good Lovin. The first hit record to use the phrase was said to be When you dance by the Turbans in 1955. Early examples of commercial doo-wop can probably be found in many of The Mills Brothers work and My Prayer by the Inkspots in 1939.
