I CAN’T STOP LOVING YOU was a country song written by Don Gibson in an un-air-conditioned single-wide.  Ray Charles geniused it to #1 Billboard in 1962 and took it there his way. Like Ray said, “When I sing I Can’t Stop Loving You I’m not singin it country-western, I’m singin it like me.” Sang it so good it became his #1 Billboard charter.
